Assoc. Prof, Dr. Phung Trung Tap has over 30 years of teaching at Hanoi Law University. With broad experience in teaching and researching in the field of civil law, Assoc. Prof, Dr. Phung Trung Tap is recognized as a leading expert in this field in Vietnam.

As one of the outstanding students who studied abroad under the governmental program in the 80s, Assoc, Prof. Dr. Phung Trung Tap graduated from Moscow Institute of International Relations, Russia in 1985. In 2003, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Hanoi Law University. Assoc.Prof, Dr. Phung Trung Tap was appointed to be an Associate Professor of Law in 2011 and became the Senior Lecturer in 2016.

During his lecturing career, Asscoc.Prof, Dr. Phung Trung Tap has been taken the position Head of the Civil Law Department of Hanoi Law University for several periods and has been invited to deliver lectures at various famous Law teaching universities across Vietnam.

Not only working as a jurisprudence lecturer, Asscoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Trung Tap also participated in the process of drafting Laws of the National Assembly and the Government as a member of the drafting committee for several years. With the intensive knowledge of of Vietnamese and foreign jurisdictions, Assoc. Prof, Dr Phung Trung Tap has given different ideas on amending and supplementing of these Law bills. Alongside with that, Assoc. Prof, Dr. Tap is the head of many ministerial-level research projects with the highly intensive academic knowledge, contributing ideas for the processes of building and implementing laws.

In addition, in order to support the legal teaching activities, and in the process of working, Assoc. Prof, Dr. Phung Trung Tap has compiled many monographs, references in the field of civil law, which are widely used for lecturing in many law universities. Mr. Tap’s research works published on many highly credited professional magazines such as the Journal of Democracy and Law, Journal of State and Law, … always draws the attention of jurisprudence researchers.

With broad understanding of Vietnamese law and more than 30 years of working, researching in the field of civil law, the analysis given by Associate Professor Phung Trung Tap on particular cases is legally precise.
